Bring Your Own Film Festival

Bring Your Own Film Festival on Puri Beach in India has not only cut out the middle-man, it's crumpled him up and tossed him into the glorious sea. BYOFF is a film festival "without hierarchy, competition, juries and awards". The festival is set outdoors, with tents, includes other artistry such as music and sculpture. Below is a picture of the serene Puri Beach in India, although I can't say whether or not this is the actual part of the beach where the films will be screened, but it's nice isn't it?

There is no selection process to have your film screened at BYOFF however they will always make it a priority to screen films personally brought down to the beach by filmmakers. Do not let this discourage you, as BYOFF will make attempts to screen any films sent in during the vacant slots in the festival screening times.

There is a small fee for this festival but at 200 Rupees for a film under 15 minutes it works out to be about $6 Dollars (AU) or $4 (US). The festival takes place between Feb 15th to Feb 25th 2009. You can access the Online submission form at the link I have provided at the start of this post.
