The Comic Strip Presents ...

I am very content ... and possibly somewhere, some part of me will be very content for quite some time because I have bought the complete series of The Comic Strip Presents ... (Thanks Madman Entertainment for releasing such a long awaited and inexpensive complete box set).

My meal times are fully booked up now for months. Nothing goes nicer with home cooking, followed by ice-cream and jelly than a really solid innovative screamingly sublime acerbic and excessive British satire such as The Comic Strip series, produced and frequently written by Peter Richardson (Originally lined up to play Mike in The Young Ones) and featuring Keith Allen, Adrian Edmondson, Alexi Sayle, Rik Mayall, Robbie Coltrane, Nigel Planner, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and lashings of other talented comedians fucking with genre and satirizing culture.

This has to be one of the best comedy series ever created, and a lot has to do with its original and disparate structure. Each episode is vastly different except for a few doubling ups here and there. The plots are often absurd, ripping genre out of its roots and slapping a camera in front of a platoon of comedians who can play the range on the drama/comedy scale with complete ease. It reminds us that shows like The Office totally pulled its characterizations out of a show like The Comic Strip Presents ... which can hit the softest subtle notes with the acting and then flay off to the extreme with total anarchy and madness.

So, as you can probably tell I'm resting somewhat from following what festivals are doing what, just until I recover from my panic attack which has knocked a bit out of me. I spent the long weekend just writing and combing out a few neglected project work, mainly exporting hours of footage off tapes that can be used for other things.

I know she's married to Lenny Henry ... but here is a sexy and slinky naked picture of Dawn French.

Yes, it does exist, haven't watched that one in a while but it is on the complete box set. Peter Richardson I think is the lead in that episode.

Feed me, Seymour!

I like to watch
